Choosing the Right Size GoTreads for Your Vehicle
Overview
GoTreads sizing depends on your tire size, how much leveling height you need, and whether you want extra traction
length.
Recommended GoTreads size by vehicle type
RVs
- GoTreads XL is a popular RV choice because it provides more traction and more leveling height than Regular:
- 4 inches of leveling
- 58 inches of traction
- For larger tires, consider GoTreads XXL, which provides 70 inches of traction.
Adventure vans
- Most adventure van owners prefer GoTreads XL for its extra height when leveling:
- Up to 4 inches of leveling
- 4 feet of traction
UTVs / Side-by-sides
- GoTreads Regular is recommended for most UTVs, especially with smaller-diameter tires.
- If you frequently encounter difficult terrain or need more traction—or if your UTV has larger tires—consider
GoTreads XL for an additional foot of traction per GoTread.
How many GoTreads do you need?
For traction
- One pair of GoTreads is usually sufficient.
- If you frequently travel off-road (or want a tread under each drive tire for optimal traction), you may want two
pairs.
Extending traction with Quick Connect
- With the Quick Connect kit, you can connect two GoTreads end-to-end to temporarily increase traction length (e.g.,
UTV customers can get over six feet of traction by connecting Regular-length GoTreads).
Leveling: when to use Stack Pack
If you’ll be leveling your vehicle with GoTreads, use the Stack Pack for a more stable leveling platform (panels strap
together with non-slip mats between them).
- Recommended anytime you are leveling 3 inches or higher with GoTreads.
Important note for tandem axles
When using GoTreads with tandem axles, do not place them under both a driving and a non-driving tire at the same time,
as this could cause damage.
Storage tip (UTVs)
For Regular-length GoTreads:
- Store them together in the GoTreads Regular Cube Case, or
- Secure them separately using bungee cords or cam buckle straps.
